About Dr. Byrne
Dr. Steven Byrne
Welcome to the Chiropractic Center!
Please consider me your partner in achieving optimum health. My staff and I are dedicated to offering a warm, friendly atmosphere coupled with a full range of safe and gentle care. In addition to chiropractic treatment, I offer emergency treatment for sprains, sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents and work related injuries. We offer x-rays and therapy, as well as acupuncture and nutritional counseling. Please think of me as our first choice for pain relief.
I've been a Chiropractic Doctor since 1983 and have treated thousands of patients using chiropractic methods to reduce nerve interference. In addition, my background includes a Master of Science Degree in Biology, which I keep up-to-date as an adjunct professor teaching natural science at St. Petersburg College. That means I'll use every modality and technique available to help you achieve the nest health result possible. Also, if for some reason chiropractic care cannot benefit you, I will refer you to ther medical professionals who specialize in the type of treatment you need.
This page includes information about myself and my practice. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. You can contact me via our contact us page, calling, or coming in to the clinic. I'm here to be your partner in good health!
Sincerely,
Dr. Byrne
We offer numerous types of manipulation in our practice because we feel that each patient is unique. What helps one patient may not be helpful for another. We would like to explain a little about each technique.
DIVERSIFIED technique is a hands on approach to adjusting the spine. It is taught at all Chiropractic Colleges. When receiving this type of treatment often times your hear a "pop" or soft audible release as the joint is adjusted.
COX technique is used primarily for low back conditions which require stretching, for example, patients with disc herniations and certain acute strains. This technique is very gentle.
GONSTEAD technique utilizes specific adjustment as developed by it's founder, Dr. Clarence Gonstead. It offers an effectiveness that sets the bone in place. Sitting cervical chair is one method.
ACTIVATOR technique is a gentle and effective approach to manipulation. It utilizes a hand held device called an activator that allows for a specific adjustment. Patients receiving this technique do not hear a "pop" as in diversified adjusting.
We feel that Chiropractic is an Art as well as Science. Each new patient is treated as an individual. Before treatment is given, an examination is performed, appropriate X-rays are taken and a diagnosis is formulated. Treatment is rendered if the condition falls within the scope of Chiropractic care. If not, an appropriate referral is made.
